NYFW2020: Mad Hippie for Collina Strada’s Show

Sustainability took the main stage at New York Fashion Week 2020 with designer Collina Strada’s ‘Garden Hoe’-themed F/W 20 show. The collection drew inspiration from a fun, festive, eco-conscious approach – with a range that included pieces made from deadstock, up-cycled materials, and a sustainable version of silk made from rose petals.

Walking down a runway made of fresh soil and grass, which was later donated to a local community garden, models held gardening supplies, fresh vegetables and rhinestone encrusted water bottles.

Lead makeup artist Allie Smith partnered with sustainable skincare and cosmetics brand Mad Hippie to achieve the model’s clean, dewy look.

Each model’s skin was first prepped with skincare staples, including Mad Hippie’s Hydrating Nutrient Mist, Face Cream and Vitamin C Serum.

Then a mixture of Mad Hippie’s Concealer was placed under the eye, followed by pops of Mad Hippie’s Cheek & Lip Tintsin in a range of colors across the face to add the perfect flush to the cheeks and pops of color to the face.
