Spring/Summer NYC Fashion Week 2018: A Bit of Brilliance

If there is one thing I noticed about this upcoming season’s trend is feminine fusion. Pretty and daring pulse through each ensemble equally. The allure of the high slits in skirts and dresses, flowy and floral… the seduction of sheer, fine fabrics which draped countless fashion forms for numerous brands that graced the runway. This season is duly defined as feminine yet assertive and bold.

Each look that was displayed reveled in radiance. Many styles were delicate and dainty in presence and poise; several delivered a valiant impression with high slits, plunging necklines and glistening in fringe fabrication. Several pastel colors were highlighted on the runway- baby blues, polished pinks, champagne and then a beautiful, bold, bright red took center stage. All gallant garments.

Corinne Foxx and Nala Wayans were new members to the catwalk and were models in the show. Foxx gave an amazing performance as she walked the runway while her father, Jamie Foxx watched in the audience.

The popular brand Torrid debuts with distinction in diversity, the theme-women are many things in many ways. The show featured finalists from Torrid’s Third Annual Model Search and revealed an illustrious image of the confident and cultured woman wearing the label. Key pieces included leather laced corsets, floral patterns on flowy dresses and skirts, two-tier knee length dresses with a sheer sheath element at ankle length…an overall airy and edgy feel to the collection.
