If you like wine, try out their Weathered Vineyard Tasting Room. You can enjoy a nice bottle inside your room or in the garden under the stars by the firepit.
There are a variety of rooms to choose from, depending on what you prefer. From a room with a fireplace to one that’s pet-friendly (yay, you can bring Fido!), the Smithton Inn has something that will accommodate you. I was very pleased that I could bring my dog — especially after staying home for so long… I didn’t want him to have separation anxiety. I also had my newborn daughter, and there was a pack-and-play upon arrival for me.
Each room is uniquely warm and has its own personality and the attention to detail is refreshing and comforting. The ambience is very homey and cozy, which is a feel you would not get at a chain hotel. The entire inn has been rewired for the fastest, reliable internet available and all rooms have been upgraded with smart TVs, enabling guests to log into their streaming services on large screens. The room I stayed in was very spacious with a full kitchen, work desk, luxurious spa tub and shower, and included two robes. There was also plenty of hand sanitizer and masks available. I was able to decompress from everything going on in the world and relax.
The innkeeper, Rebecca Gallagher, is not only an incredible and gracious host but also a fabulous cook. Her morning breakfast offerings are delectable and memorable. She uses fresh herbs and vegetables from her garden and her portions are generous. You will leave feeling satisfied and ready to start your day. Depending on how long you stay, you can experience Rebecca’s tasty morning meals and her passion for fantastic food. Even the presentation of her food is Instagram worthy. A typical breakfast includes Colombian coffee and a collection of teas, Rebecca’s signature juice blend and fresh orange juice, a fruit dish, fresh baked muffins and breads, signature homemade granola, and a hot entree such as Cinnamon Apple Baked French Toast, Asparagus Tarragon and Swiss Croissant Baked Eggs with Sausage, Baked Eggs in a Ham Cup, Sausage and Cheese Mini-Frittatas, Bananas Foster Pancakes, Italian Crustless Quiche, Strawberry Amaretto Stuffed French Toast and more. Everything I ate was scrumptious, so I really looked forward to my next meal.
On Saturday nights you can enjoy a glass of wine while listening to live music in the garden. The musicians played a variety of tunes that were crowd pleasers. I was extremely impressed with the quality and even able to socially distance dance.
Parking is free for guests, and the inn has its own Tesla electric vehicle charging station. In the quaint atmosphere you can often see Amish buggies trotting nearby. If you decide to go out and explore, you will be centrally located to many different al fresco restaurants, independent shops, and top craft breweries.
