Black women know the importance of our hair. So when I saw the aesthetically-pleasing packaging of The Potion Studio and its founder, Aziza (who happens to be a big fan of Beauty News NYC), I just had to try TPS for myself! All vegan and cruelty-free; super important to keep in the good graces of Mother Earth.
Satin Silk Shampoo
After wetting my hair I pump Satin Silk Shampoo into my hands (a little goes a looooong way). It is no-lather and cleanses with aloe and cucumber. My curls felt bouncy and light without any stripping of the natural oils. The fragrance reminds me of a fresh rose bouquet and I’m obsessed.
Confident Crow Conditioner
I go in with the Confident Crow Conditioner that has this warm, nutty smell that I wish was a perfume. I leave it on for ten minutes and rinse it out. I never knew my curls could be so soft without any leave-in. But I’m gonna add leave-in anyways, of course.
Monoi Mango Moisturizer
Monoi Mango Moisturizer is apparently made by angels. I swear, I’ve never smelt something so sensual before. It even doubles as a body lotion (crazy, I know!) and I’ve been drenching myself in it from literally, head to toe. I rake the leave-in through my hair and watch my curls drink it up. Fluffy yet defined yet lightweight. I’m in love.
Rose Bomb Leave-in Conditioning Spray
To refresh I spray Rose Bomb Leave-in Conditioning Spray on day four hair. It smells like that classic rose scent and adds hydration and shine. I finger coil and boom , I’m feeling good, thanks to The Potion Studio.
