Exhibitions to See: International Center of Photography

This fall, visiting the International Center of Photography in New York is a must do. The ICP curators find the most interesting and exciting modern photography from all around the world, and the current exhibitions are no exception. First, a collaborative exhibition including 28 artists from different points around the globe, called A Different Kind of Order: The ICP Triennial. The exhibition is focused on capturing moments of broad social, political, and economic uncertainty through various media including photography, video, film, and other interactive outlets. A Different Kind of Order explores the evolution of digital photography across the world and how artists interpret this shift in their art. The exhibition is on view through September 22, 2013.

Also on view now at the International Center of Photography (ICP) is Rising Waters: Photographs of Hurricane Sandy. This exhibition captures the moments of destruction and recuperation throughout the duration of Hurricane Sandy. With an open call for submissions, the ICP received more than 7,000 photographs, 100 of which are on display. Taken by over 90 professional photographers, bystanders, and community members, the photos detail the damages caused by Hurricane Sandy and the recovery efforts. This exhibition is on display through September 29, 2013.
