Dan has developed five workouts:

• KickBox Conditioning

• Run Club and outdoor training in Central Park (across the street from the hotel)

I met with Dan to learn more about the program and decided to sample a KickBox Conditioning session. The workout consists of a combination of punches, kicks and calisthenics for sculpting the upper and lower body and improving cardio health. Not only is Dan a highly experienced trainer, he’s a warm and down-to-earth guy, and he put me at ease immediately for our session in the hotel’s modern and immaculately maintained fitness center.
We began by warming up on a stationary bicycle, followed by some pushups, squats and situps. Then we moved on to some basic boxing moves, which were totally new to me as a longtime yogini who rarely works out in a gym. Next, we worked out on some machines to pick up the cardio intensity. A huge benefit of training with Dan at The Mark Hotel is that your workout will not be a cookie-cutter routine. This is the real deal — Dan knows how to customize the session to each client’s individual goals and capabilities, and adapts the workout according to what works best for your fitness level.
