2020 NYC: Where To Celebrate In The 5 Boroughs

This year I decided to compile a list of places to celebrate the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 with events throughout the five boroughs of New York City: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, The Bronx and Queens. Here are my top picks for last minute reservations: Old Bermuda Inn, Marina del Rey, Monarch Rooftop, Kimoto Rooftop and Top of the Park.

“These vagabond shoes (stilettos) …”

With some of the best views of the Empire State Building, Monarch Rooftop in Manhattan (near Macy’s and Penn Station) will be hosting a classic celebration of the city that never sleeps.

After the climax at midnight, Monarch Rooftop and indoor lounge will serve guests a hearty buffet that includes breakfast sandwiches, eggs and pancakes with all the fixings, plus bagels, French fries and hash browns. Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas will flow until 2 a.m.

Celebration on Staten Island

The Old Bermuda Inn has been a popular venue on Staten Island long before “Working Girl” hit the cinema.

If you want to experience a taste of New York just on the backside of the Statue of Liberty, this is the place to be for their Dine & Dance Party at $75 per person and a cash bar – the festivities begin at 7:00 pm.

They are also ringing in the new year with a Great Gatsby Gala from 7:30 pm until 1:00 am with a 5 ½ hour cocktail hour(s), 5-course Dinner, dessert and top-shelf open bar. Dress in period costumes to make it more festive.

The Bronx Cheer

Marina Del Ray — This popular local is a homestead in the Bronx for over 40 years. The last day of 2019 features a cocktail hour, fresh fruit sorbet appetizer, highly acclaimed pasta trio, and a surf and turf dinner featuring South African lobster tail and a 10 oz. filet mignon. Their countdown will culminate with a sparkling champagne toast. They also offer Viennese desert tables throughout the sweetest part of the evening; guests will be served unlimited premium drinks, bottled domestic and imported beers and wines.

Also included in the party package will be on-premises valet parking, complimentary coat check, and celebratory noisemakers and party hats.

Brooklyn Scene

For a raucous time, panoramic views of Manhattan, plus party favors, Kimoto Rooftop is offering party favors, a broadcast of the event from Times Square and passed hors d’oeuvres.

The music will play on with a line-up of popular/local DJs and this event will roll into the wee hours with a group of New York revelers that only Brooklyn residents can conjure up.

Dancing Queens

This year, the historic structure that looms 20 floors above Flushing Meadows Park will be hosting a party to remember. Terrace on the Park will pop corks, serve up gourmet cuisine and pack the dance floor into the wee hours of 2020. You must purchase your ticket prior to the event.

These are just a few of the places to see and be seen off the beaten path of the holiday bachanalia.
