Support Woman-Powered Coffees & Teas: Bean & Bean + Everyday People Brands

These two coffee brands will not only elevate your coffee experience, but they’re founded and run by women, contribute to a better world, and they have excellent tea, too.

Bean & Bean Organic Coffee Roasters: Specialty Coffee, Ethically Sourced
NYC’s Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters feels a responsibility to be mindful of where they source their beans, which speaks to their brand’s integrity. They work with small coffee farms that work in sync with the environment rather than dominating it. They also partner with The Sloth Institute to save the sloths of Costa Rica, and donate 1% of their online sales to help care for orphaned and injured sloths, helping them rehabilitate and return to wildlife. Buying Bean & Bean coffee enables them give back to the environment where their coffee beans come from.

Based in NYC since its inception in 2008, Bean & Bean was founded by two women coffee sommeliers, a mother and daughter team — Rachel & Jiyoon — who have been working to bridge the gender gap in coffee throughout its value chain. So when you brew up some of this flavorful, Fair Trade, woman-powered coffee, you will help contribute to change.

Here are a few of their many offerings:

Downtown Blend Automatic Drip: Organic Seasonal Blend of beans from South America, Africa & Peru with notes of roasted nuts, cedar, and sweet herbs.

Peru Las Damas Automatic Drip: notes of dark chocolate, caramel, lemon, and orange. Farm: Coopafsi. Variety: Typica, Caturra, Mundo Novo, Catimor.

Santa Felisa Purple Gesha: a woman-led farm. First Prize in 2017 Cup of Excellence. Region: Guatemala Acatenango.
