The Blue Ridge bar soap by Fulton & Roark is made with rich notes of Sandalwood, Amber, and Sage. I chose this bar soap also for the exfoliating power of oat flowers while cocoa and shea butter hydrate and smooth the skin. This soap also gained points for its long-lasting life — it doesn’t disintegrate quickly even when wet.

Like the bar soap, the Blue Ridge deodorant stick also contains the fresh and alluring scent of Sandalwood — it’s warm and woody. The Blue Ridge collection gets the title from one of the oldest mountain ranges in the U.S. running from Pennsylvania to Georgia. I chose this product for its fresh scent that conjures up the great outdoors and beauty of its namesake region.

For men who are leery of spray cologne, this month I chose the Fulton & Roark Solid Fragrance. Once again, the Blue Ridge scent captures notes of Sandalwood, Sage, and Amber. I selected this solid fragrance not only for the scent but also for its masculine and compact metal container. It’s about the size of a silver dollar and fits perfectly in a shaving kit for travel or the gym bag.

When many people think of high-quality soaps, the South of France is on top of mind due to the rolling fields of purple lavender. The soaps of Averal Provence are made with the same high standards as the French created centuries ago. (See our recent article about the history of lavender here).

This month I chose their gift box for men with its selection of four distinct bar soaps: Marine, Olive Oil, Lemon Verbena French Soap, and Moroccan Argan Oil. (Several are ideal for shaving). This set makes a great present for gents who appreciate fragrance and tradition as well the top quality of triple-milled soap.
