Inspired by her bath and body collection Gourmande, this fall beauty guru Laura Mercier introduces the Eau Gourmande collection, five new fragrances with delicate floral and warm seductive notes that can be worn alone, blended together, or layered over any of the bath and body products.
The first of the five fragrances, Crème Brulee is luxurious and warm with top notes of caramel, middle notes of rich caramel and spun sugar giving way to a base of French vanilla bean and white musk. Tarte au Citron is an interpretation of the lemony treat with top notes of bergamot, lemon, and cassis. Middle notes of jasmine, auberpine, and anis flower blend with a warm sensual base of blonde wood, vanilla, praline, and musk.
Almond Coconut Milk mixes top notes of almond, coconut milk, and leafy greens with a heart of jasmine, ylang-ylang, and an exquisite base of vanilla, Tonka, heliotrope, and musk to yield a delicious aromatic dream of a scent. Marrons Glaces highlights a chestnut confection with notes of Mirabelle and hazelnut leaves, middle notes of cyclamen, jasmine, and chestnut flower along a base of warm amber and alluring heliotrope and vanilla. The last of the 5 scents Vanille Gourmande is a calming fragrance including top notes of vanilla orchid and vanilla liqueur combined with notes of vanilla musk, heliotrope, day lily, and a tantalizing base of bourbon vanilla, sandalwood, and amber.
The Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande collection is available Neiman Marcus and at lauramercier.com.
For the adventurous, independent woman in all of us, fashion designer extraordinaire Vera Wang has launched her newest fragrance, Vera Wang Princess. The sheer fruity floral aroma blends notes of vanilla water lily, golden apricot, and mandarin meringue with a succulent heart of pink guava, Tahitian tiare flower, tuberose, and dark chocolate to warm the tone. Modern yet feminine, the scent is balanced out with base notes of rich amber and earthy woods. The playful heart-shaped bottle is done in a royal purple crystal with a small-jeweled crown atop the cap inlaid with amethyst-hued crystals. The bottle is so glamorous and the scent so addicting I’ve already gone through an entire bottle. Vera Wang has hit a real homerun with this scent; you can feel the easy elegance which was the inspiration and that also reins as her fashion aesthetic.
Vera Wang Princess is available at Sephora stores nationwide or fore more information visit coty.com.
As a follow up to the runaway success of his Summer Splash collection, Marc Jacobs has entered the fall season with a trio of Fall Splash fragrances: Violet, Ivy, and Amber. The fragrance palette is rich and warm capturing the essence of the natural transition from summer to fall. Violet is light and vibrant with cool and warm tones of orchid, magenta, and black violet. Its botanical quality is perfectly unisex. Top notes of bergamot and peony give way to violet, orchid, and orris. Cedarwood, cashmere, vanilla, musk and gingerbread soften the aroma with a hint of spice.
Fall means back to school and visions of cool college campuses laced in creeping ivy and argyle sweaters dance in our heads. These fantasies yielded Ivy, the second autumn splash fragrance. Crisp yet soft with rich, woody undertones, the top notes of nutmeg, cardamom, and mandarin blend with fresh orris for a light and airy quality. Topping off the scent are notes of warm suede, tonka bean, vetiver, and sandalwood for an organic sensuous feel. I layered this with the Violet splash, which made for a fresh, subtle aroma perfect for cool weekends antiquing in the mountains of Connecticut.
The Amber splash is the ultimate fall beauty accessory and Marc Jacobs has channeled the golden autumn sun and changing leaves with exotic top notes of crystallized ginger, cassia bark, ancient amber that lead into a heart of Tonka bean, cashmere wood and benzoin creating a smooth, smoky essence. The oversized clear glass bottles feature Marc Jacobs’ signature minimalist design and showcase the shades of each splash beautifully.
Layer all three splashes for the ultimate autumnal olfactory experience. Marc Jacobs Autumn Splash Collection will be available beginning in October.
