Golden Globes Look We Loved: Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman shimmered and shined at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, looking radiant in her metallic Alexander McQueen gown. We spoke to celebrity hairstylist Kylee Heath who played off of the rock-and-roll vibe of Kidman’s mermaid cut gown to create the perfect ‘do.

“I started working a low, messy bun with a criss-cross effect on top that had a fishtail feel to it,” Heath said. “When we got halfway through, everyone in the room agreed that we should stop! It was perfect half-up, half down. The loose pieces were just the edge we needed.”

How to get the look:
Step 1: Heath started by spraying Leonor Greyl Condition Naturelle all over Kidman’s damp hair and working Leonor Greyl Mousse Au Lotus into her roots.

Step 2: Then she blew Kidman’s hair smooth with the Dyson Supersonic dryer and an Ibiza round brush and created a side part.

Step 3: Next she went back in and added texture using the Harry Josh 1” curling iron, then a 1.25” iron to break up the texture a bit and give the ends a looser wave.

Step 4: Leaving a few pieces loose in the front, Heath criss-crossed pieces in the back, pulling a piece from the left and pinning it on the right, then pulling a piece from the right and pinning on the left (about five pieces from each side).

Step 5: To keep the top really smooth, she rubbed a little Leonor Greyl Eclat Naturel into her hands and smoothed them over the pieces around Kidman’s face. The result was loose and undone.

Step 6: Heath finished by spraying Leonor Greyl Laque Souple all over.
