Sizzling summers require something ice cold to sip on. Take a peek into my cooler and you’ll find it filled with slices of watermelon, bundles of blueberries, tubs of Italian ice, and of course, Halfday. Founded by besties Kayvon and Mike after Kayvon was hospitalized from Ulcerative Colitis and was determined to improve gut health in a fun and delicious way. Thus Halfday was born, an iced tea with the classic flavors of summer.
Each can is filled with 8 grams of prebiotics (plant fibers) that aid in the health of the gut, which plays a major role in regulating serotonin (happy hormone) for the whole body. Only 30 calories, 3 grams of sugar, 4 grams of net carbs, and always made with mouthwatering organic tea. No gluten, no bubbles making it easy to drink anytime of the day – though I usually stick to afternoons, since it has about 50 grams of caffeine in each can.
There are four available flavors that are absolute crowd pleasers (and no I cannot pick a favorite): Lemon, Green Tea, Peach, and the newest addition, Raspberry. They all offer a natural and refreshing taste, especially over ice. After getting friends to test the teas, they all adore the fruity flavors of Peach and Raspberry. In terms of gut health, I’ve felt the benefits of Halfdays over the course of the month, with my bellyaches receding and my mood uplifted. There’s no easier way to get all the good stuff and none of the bad with Halfdays!
