Within the spa, Maired offers a variety of treatments, including facials with Ayurvedic herbs, foot massages, full body massages, and even Ayurvedic diet consultations. The treatment room, is a peaceful and luxurious oceanfront room, dimmed and adorned with candles, and meditative music.
I recently enjoyed the Ayurvedic facial and foot bath, which is a rejuvenating blend of massage, hot towels, exfoliation, and natural herbs.
We started with the Himalayan food bath, my feet soaking in warm salt water with an earthy essence of cedar wood and may chang oils. She then began to massage my feet and calves with a homemade coconut oil sugar scrub. The perfect pressure, and flow of movement was very relaxing, releasing tensions held in my feet and legs.
After the foot bath, I moved to the massage table for the facial. She began with a juhi milk cleanser to refresh the skin, followed by a hot towel covering the face to open the pores. She then massaged the face with a triphala, and jasmine scrub, exolfiating my skin, and activated the lymph flow.
As the session continued, I felt a gentle massage of my head, relaxing my mind, as my stress drifted away into a meditative bliss! Following the exfoliation was another divine hot towel steaming of my face. The ashwaghanda,local blue clay, and rose hydrofoil face mask was then rubbed on my skin. The natural combination of fragrance was very relaxing, topping it off with another hot towel.
The final touch was a all natural moisturizer by Earth Matters brand, where Maired began to massage my face using a jade crystal roller, and moving to the scalp, neck, shoulders, and arms. The final massage brought me to a deep state of calmness, a feeling of rejuvenation, soothed, and my muscles feeling relaxed. I had let go of any tensions I held before, and felt balanced and revitalized.
