Men like boots almost as much as women like shoes. We don’t obsess over them but we appreciate every style from cowboy and motorcycle to workman and dress boots. When a pair is comfortable, well-made and looks great, it puts that swagger in our step — cocky on occasion but always confident.
It doesn’t matter if your man is working, doing the two-step or climbing mountains — get him a great pair of boots. Here’s how you can kick up his heels before the holiday.

Caterpillar Footwear recently launched their Fall/Winter collection at the Kings County Distillery in the Brooklyn Ship Yard. We drank whiskey in New York’s oldest sour mash maker and then gathered outdoors under the stars in the cool, crisp, fall air. While the night was chilly, their boots for men burned up the runway.
Sturdy, comfortable, and ruggedly sexy, they come in an array of masculine colors, and their Oxblood red is off the hook. I recommend their Abe Canvas, Haverhill and Orson styles. Singer Tyler Hilton agrees as he sported a pair while performing songs from his latest CD.
You may recognize the Cat brand for their industrial machinery. Well, their footwear is made with the same superior quality and American craftsmanship of durability and perfection. These boots rock!
Do your dude a favor and buy him a pair. This will be the next best thing under his mistletoe.
Check out their entire collection and shop online at http://www.catfootwear.com.
If you (or the guys who you buy for) are fashion conscious but frugal, check out the styles from Testosterone. Their latest boots are as fierce as the footwear marching down the catwalks in New York, Milan and Paris. However their prices will not break your holiday budget. My picks for this month are their Spy Sea and Whip It Up styles pictured above.
These boots are made for walkin’ in style — comfortable, classic and colorful; I added an extra punch to my pair with yellow laces.
After a shopping spree at Bloomingdales and a sugar fix at Dylan’s Candy Bar on the Upper East Side, I decided to bring it down a notch and stopped in the Clarks’ shoe store to check out their boots.
I found a nice pair of boots that will help me trudge through the snow, sleet and slush this winter.
They are sporty, waterproof and have good traction. While these practical boots will help me weather the elements, Clarks has a new line of shoes and boots coming out this February for Spring/Summer as pictured above.

Beckett Simonon’s Andres Niño and Nicholas Hurtado.
There is not a hipster in Brooklyn, a Beau Brummell on Park Avenue or a Sugar Daddy on Wall Street that doesn’t love a good Chukka boot. Luckily I discovered Beckett Simonon. I could ramble on about how I love this style but here’s an insider’s opinion.
“Sometimes all you need is a classic pair of Chukka boots to elevate any outfit,” says Nicholas Hurtado, creative director and co-founder of Beckett Simonon. “An essential item for the contemporary man, Chukka boots will do just that and more, ensuring effortless, yearlong style.”
While this style is perfect for every season, I suggest you get your Santa’s helper a pair so he can haul out the holly.

This is why you should give your guy the boot and give him a pass if he steps on your toes while dancing at your holiday party.
