For those who don’t have the luxury of a grill in their backyard or on their balcony, this is the next best thing. Indoor grilling made easy, efficient and above all tasty.
Most city dwellers don’t have a yard or outdoor space to grill the summer’s favorite foods, I recently discovered and tested the T-fal OptiGrill. Out of all of the indoor grills that I’ve used, this one is amazing and cooks everything from chicken to fish, steaks, vegetables, burgers to sausage as well as paninis. You select the item that you are cooking and the grill alarms you when it’s time to put item on it and close the lid. It then tells you the cooking process by color so you know when the meat is rare, medium or well done. I tested it with several different recipes from their cookbook and all dishes came out perfectly.
I recommend the Beef Tenderloin with Mushroom and Bleu Cheese, Spiced Grilled Vegetable Italian Panini and the Buttermilk-Rosemary Marinated Chicken (above).

We recently reviewed Omaha Steaks for our Father’s Day editorial. I saved the Filet Mignon to test on the T-fal OptiGrill. I needed to prepare one steak rare and the second one medium. True to form the grill alerted me when to remove each cut and they were both cooked perfectly.

Another option for grilling at summertime get-togethers is the Carnivore Club. Each month an assortment of various meats from around the world, made by local artisans will arrive at home. You can enjoy them as a charcuterie or slice them a little thicker for the grill. I made hor d’oeuvres on crackers with the salami, Italian pancetta and Parisienne ham.

Now everyone can grill this summer.
