For this month we tried and tested many products with a specific goal, to help men beat the heat and come out shining and fresh under the omnipotent summer sun. It wasn’t an easy feat with so many products on the market, however, we managed to put together a list that will keep all guys cool, clean, comfortable and smelling great this July.
Made by Paul Mitchell, the Tea Tree Special Shampoo is a little different than other shampoos because it includes an ingredient that tingles the scalp; at first we thought it was a chemical but were pleased to learn that it’s just peppermint. After testing the shampoo and it helped clear up a little dandruff. The scent is herbal but smells a wee bit medicinal. If you or your guy is fortunate to have a full head of hair, this shampoo is worth a try.

We are very well aware of the fact that many grooming gangsters and skincare snobs scoff at AXE products, but we feel differently about this innovative, ambitious and ever-changing product line for men. Over the years, AXE has broken stereotypes, made men of all ages informed about the importance of hygiene and created a successful global line of products that has filled the company coffers to the capacity of wonderment. They obviously know what they are doing. It’s also important to know that several of their products are effective in removing the summertime grit, sweat and sand.
This month we recommend the AXE Black Body Wash for real guys who want to be clean, smell good and pursue extreme goals. Keep it in the bath, in your gym bag and take an extra with you when traveling.

Need to shave while on your travels this month. Here is the perfect tube of beard lube for your shaving kit — Dr. Carver’s Shave Butter. It’s better than a cream or foam especially when you are on the road because the small tube is easy to pack especially when going thru the TSA. The clean, fresh scent is partially created by the ingredients of prickly pear cactus, black willow bark and oat extract. We tried it and the shaving experience is as smooth as butter. It’s part of the Dollar Shave Club.

This July we selected Arbonne Micro-Exfoliating Cleanser for a face wash. The smooth cream cleanser is better to use on sun-touched skin as apposed to a heavier grain exfoliant. We still recommend using an SPF factor of 50 when going outdoors but if your face gets burned by the midday sun, try this cleanser to get the epidermis back to a healthy stage.

Uhm… This product sort of blindsided us and we were prematurely filled with skepticism. Perhaps the company name, Dude Products, had a little to do with it, but in the long run, they won us over with their Dude Quick Shower Wipes. Brilliant. We couldn’t write the product directions better than they already have: “No shower? No Problem! Grab a wipe, scrub down your body, face, pits and DUDE regions until you don’t smell.” It works and makes sense. On top of that, the product is produced with solar energy, conserves water over showering and is hypoallergenic and Paraben free. The company was recently funded by the popular TV show, Shark Tank.
This hit the top of our list.
