What’s in His Bathroom?

A few months ago I opened up my medicine cabinet for BN NYC Metro Man readers. This month I’d like to show you a few of my new finds that can help every man cleanup his act, appearance and get his game on.

It’s time to spring clean the latrine.

Following are several items currently in my bath.

H20+ Men has been around for 25 years — they are leaders in marine science skincare and just released their Oasis Men system in celebration of their milestone anniversary. This collection has several steps for high performance cleansing, hydration and moisturizing but I will focus on the two products that I found most useful.

I like the Energizing Facial Scrub because it exfoliates the skin and doesn’t leave a residue or greasy feeling. This is perfect for men to use daily before shaving; it helps clear pores and loosen ingrown hairs.

If you don’t like to use a scrub, I also recommend their Purifying Daily Cleanser. It’s a dirt-dissolving cleanser and the scent is light and invigorating. Once again I did not feel any grease or residue after using this product.

Read about their shave foam in my Beard Envy article this month in Metro Man.

You can find H20 Plus Oasis Men at your local drug store or visit http://www.h20plus.com.

Walking through L’Occitane en Provence on the Upper West Side is like an olfactory escape to the land of baguettes and botanical gardens. This may not be an all American male approach to scent, but you can hardly go wrong with a purchase or gift from this shop for women or men.

With regards to the latter, I am a big fan of their Cèdre & Oranger scent. It has citrus and woody notes that culminate in an alluring masculine fragrance. It will certainly help men to freshen up their pheromones this spring. I also have the hand soap in the same scent for guests and company.

I recently suffered from lower back pain and had to practically crawl to the local drug store to find something to help alleviate the pain. The pharmacist recommended that I buy Epsom salt. I later read the label and realized I was soaking in some chemically enhanced salts from China.

Luckily, I discovered Jennifer Lee Segale and her Garden Apothecary; she is a botanist who manufactures organic products. Most guys prefer a shower over a bath but when push comes to shove and a knee, leg or the spine scream for relief, this “Bath Tea” will let them steep in organic comfort. It’s a great find and I’m glad to have this on my shelf just incase of a sprain or muscle pain. My back is doing much better after using these salts in a steam bath.

Bulldog is a no-nonsense, straightforward yet cheeky company that delivers easy to understand skincare products from “across the pond” — Great Britain.

Their new Original Eye Roll-On is made with avocado oil, cucumber oil and Brazilian ginseng extract to reduce the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. I like the roll-on application — it’s easy and functional.

Playboys who hoot with the owls all night and try to soar with the eagles in the morning should try this product. I’m also a fan of their Original Face Wash. It should also be mentioned that Bulldog products are light on the wallet.
