About an hour drive from Manhattan, the award-winning Lodge at Woodloch is perfectly situated in the Poconos, just far enough away and close enough to your Northeastern home. You’ll feel the calm of a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway without the unsettling feeling that you’re abandoning reality. It’s the perfect balance. And balance is what Woodloch is all about.

At the Lodge at Woodloch, my husband and I enjoyed a romantic babymoon during my 8th month of my twin pregnancy. While listening to a musician playing acoustic guitar, we indulged in delicious meals like Grilled Filet Mignon with Farm to Table vegetables complete with decadent desserts and award-winning wines (well, my husband enjoyed the wine). But balance was restored with the endorphins of health, fitness and mindfulness at classes like ¬Chakra Yoga, Juicing Demonstration and Watercolor Painting. We connected and relaxed in their serene indoor pool and spa and took leisurely walks throughout the picturesque grounds during the brisk December days we spent there.

My hubby and I took advantage of the plethora of classes and spa treatments available at the Lodge, but we also found plenty of time to relax in our room, tastefully decorated like the rest of the resort, in the style of a rustic but luxurious ski lodge.

I definitely plan to return with a few of my girlfriends for a spa weekend, perhaps during the Spring or Summer to experience more of the outdoor activities Woodloch is known for; We also can’t wait to take our entire family to Woodloch Resort, the family-friendly sister property featuring an indoor water-park.

Surrounded by groups and couples of various generations (over 18 years old), all there for a variety of reasons from mother-daughter bonding to anniversary and 40th birthday celebrations, we fully enjoyed our weekend getaway at the Lodge at Woodloch. Each guest was able to escape the hustle, bustle and chaos of daily life and relish in some peace and literal quiet (thanks to a “no cell phone in public” policy). My husband and I are looking forward to our next much needed romantic respite at the Lodge at Woodloch – as soon as the twins are sleeping through the night…if not sooner.
