Sunscreen 101

As moms, we have to make countless decisions about what goes into our children’s bodies from the foods they eat to the medicines they take, and with summer in full swing, we have to worry about what we put ON their bodies as well. Do you know that UVA protects you from those anti-aging rays while UVB protects you from actually burning? Do you know to multiply the SPF by 10 to get the number of minutes before your skin burns (minus what you lose sweating or in the pool)? Do you know you get more protection by reapplying SPF 15 multiple times than by applying SPF 30 once? It’s hard to wrap your head around all this information. And with countless sunscreens on the market, it’s hard to know which is which and which is best, making the otherwise unpleasant summer reality of applying sunblock even more annoying. So, we’ve whittled down the list to our four favorite sunscreens, perfect for the whole family.

Kiss My Face Sunscreen

Wholesome and pure, Kiss My Face is a favorite of savvy, health conscious moms who demand effective sun care products that are safe for their kids’ sensitive skin and easy to apply. Free of parabens, phthalates, SLS and artificial fragrances, the new Kiss My Face Kids Defense™ Air Powered Spray™ SPF 50, Kids Defense™ Mineral SPF 30 and Cool Sport Any Angle Air Powered Spray™ SPF 50 contain Antioxidant Defenders™ to protect against harmful UV rays. I personally love using the spray on the body and the mineral cream on the face. Kiss My Face sunscreens are available at Whole Foods, and natural retailers nationwide.
