Felines Flock to NYC For A Whirlwind Weekend!

Do you love the sound of a kitty purring in your lap? Does even the thought of a soft cat curled up nearby relax you immediately? Do their playful personalities enchant and entertain you? Then come together with fellow ailurophiles (cat lovers like yourself!) and head over to Madison Square Garden the weekend of October 13 and 14th for the Cat Fanciers Association-Iams Cat Championship.

Forty-one unique cat breeds will be on display, so no matter what type you prefer, you can find a kitty to suit your style. Need some feline advice? There’ll be veterinarians and professional speakers available to answer any questions along with a variety of vendors selling everything from top-notch kitty cuisine and treats, to toys and supplies.

What about your purring pal back home? He’s just as great as any show cat, right? Prove your point and bring your pet to the Feline Agility Competition! Open to all cats, no matter if they’re a Persian or were found in a box down the street. Your cat can test its jumping, prancing and leaping abilities against others; and even if you don’t have a kitty from home to bring, the competition is guaranteed entertainment.

All this kitty love is certain to bring up desires for a cute one of your own and you don’t have to look far to find one. The Garden is opening their Garden Terrace for 500 homeless cats for you to choose from. It’s open to the public (no admission is needed) and anyone who decides to open their hearts to a new family member will receive a care package for their new feline friend and a free ticket to the Cat Championship. How can you say no to a purring bundle of joy? Stop by the Garden, see which little ones grab your attention and then go grab one yourself!
