I asked the experts, the skin care companies, and women with rosacea what products they recommend. All products listed here can be used by anyone with sensitive skin. If you have rosacea symptoms, do go to a dermatologist to get your best treatment plan, which may include lasers, prescription medication, and/or dietary changes.
Vitamin C helps to calm inflammation, but not just any vitamin C. To get the full benefits, it should contain fat soluble vitamin C, which is called Tetrahexydecyl (aka THD) rather than Ascorbic Acid which is water soluble, can’t penetrate the skin, is less stable, and therefore is less effective. Truth Treatment Transdermal C Serum contains the fat soluble Vitamin C which is helpful in relieving redness and makes skin appear brighter. Also, it builds collagen and gives the skin a more supple appearance. Use morning and evening on clean damp skin, and under moisturizer if desired.

All the products from Pai Skin Care are made for people with sensitive skin, and their hero product is their Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil. This soothing oil contains both Andean rosehip seed and fruit oils, which contain omegas 3, 6, 7 & 9, along with vitamin E which all help to repair stressed skin. Additionally, this best seller improves dry and flaky patches, and brightens up dull looking skin. Use day and night on clean damp skin. Pai Rosehip Oil can be used under moisturizing cream if desired.

Eau Thermal Avène has been making skin care products for sensitive skin, using their extremely healing thermal water since 1743. For rosacea try their Antirougeurs Day Redness Relief Day Cream with the added bonus of SPF 25. The gentle cream has a soft green tint that helps neutralize redness while it soothes and calms skin. It’s perfect for everyday. In the evening, try Avene’s Antirougeurs Fort Soothing Crème, which reduces redness and comforts skin. Both gentle products contain the Avene thermal spring water, Ruscus Extract, Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, and other soothing ingredients.

From the Paula’s Choice Calm line which has a number of excellent products for sensitive skin, I especially love the Redness Relief Repairing Serum. Not only does it relieve redness, it also contains anti-ageing ingredients, such as anti-oxidant plant extracts that smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin. It’s lightweight and moisturizes as it reduces redness. Use day and night after cleansing.
