Healthier Skin = Healthier Women: Helping Breast Cancer while taking care of your skin

As we all know, the building block of beauty is great skin. If we don’t take care of our skin, it’s hard to maintain a vibrant and healthy look. In the same way, the building block of our happiness is good health; which is why Breast Cancer Awareness, BCA, is so important. In 2010, there were more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. and breast cancer death rates have been decreasing since 1990. These decreases are though to be the result of treatment advances, earlier detection through screening and increased awareness.

This month, we bring awareness to Breast Cancer, with great skin products that donate part of their proceeds to Breast Cancer treatment and enhance the patient experience. Thankfully, you can give back and help the cause while primping your skin and looking gorgeous! Suddenly, you’re just as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside!

The moment you open up the Righteous Body Butter by Soap and Glory you know you’re in for a treat. The intensive moisturizing cream allows for fast absorption and leaves your skin soft as butter. This is because it’s loaded with super nourishing shea butter and Aloe Vera. It also smells decadently fresh, with an addictive floral scent that also contains fresh bergamot, ozone peach, sandalwood and musk.

The Righteous Body Butter comes in an adorable tub. Pink, of course. And during the month of October, for every tub of Righteous Body Butter sold, Soap & Glory will donate $1 to breast cancer research.

Dermelect Cosmeuticals is launching a special edition Resurface Stem Cell Reconstructing Serum for BCA. The skin-perfecting serum utilizes extracted stem cells from the Swiss Alpine Rose, one of nature’s mysterious wonders. This hard working serum is the first to feature this dual function stem cell technology to boost the facial skin stem cell activity and help stimulate skin’s protein production. The serum works to protect precious skin stem cells by neutralizing the environmental free radicals and stressors that threaten it. By preserving the stem cells, the potential to regenerate new, healthy skin cells will yield youthful acting, glowing, smoother skin. In addition, the serum is formulated with EcoSkin™, which stimulates the skin’s natural defense mechanisms and Vitamin C antioxidant.

Dermelect will be donating $15 from each $75 bottle sold during the month of October to the Young Survival Coalition, a NY-based charity that benefits young women battling breast cancer.

The women at Thistle Farms in the US create handmade body products that are good for the earth and for your body. Thistle Farms employs 32 women and 100% of the proceeds of their products go directly into the non-profit business to provide salary for these women who are going through trauma in their lives such as addiction, domestic violence and other family situations.

They have created the Thistle Farms Shower Gel, which is a gentle liquid soap for shower or bath. It is made with all natural ingredients – no artificial emulsifiers – so it must be shaken well before use.
