This month we bring you products that are all two-part. You could say we’re giving skin care a one-two punch!

You know how I love the science of beauty, and though I don’t have a chemistry background, I really get into science-nerd mode reading about breakthrough technology that can be used to keep us looking better and younger longer. Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot about BioMimicry. Just last week at the AAD (American Academy of Dermatology) meeting, a new technology, called CYTOMIMIC™ Technology by Johnson & Johnson, was causing a buzz. While I’ve read three pages on it already, I won’t bore you with too much information, but just know that CYTOMIMIC Technology is based on creating and delivering biological levels of electrical micro currents to the skin and stimulating the body’s own rejuvenation process. In the eye area, the use of this technology in products can diminish the appearance of bags under the eyes, reduce the look of dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles and improve brightness. One company that’s now using this technology is RoC in their Brilliance Collection and I’ve recently tried their Eye Beautifier. Part one is the Activating Serum which is blue (but colorless once applied) and part two is the Day Rejuvenating Cream. The instructions say to apply both day and night; however, use very sparingly during daytime application so it doesn’t interfere with foundation on top of it. I saw nice results quickly as my eye area looked smoother and brighter in two days.

As a skin care writer I always chant “skin care doesn’t end at the chin”, but too many don’t heed my words. Ever look at someone with a clear bight face, and then as your eyes travel down to the chest the skin revealed just where a couple of buttons are undone, you can see an area that’s freckled, wrinkled and darker than the face? It’s not pretty or youthful, it’s years of sun damage and fortunately Obagi Medical has come out with a system to treat it. The Elastiderm Decolletage System will help reverse some of that photo-aging damage. Part one is a skin lightening complex that uses 4% hydroquinone which reduces discoloration and age spots. Part two is a wrinkle reducer that is a blend of minerals, copper, zinc and malonic acid which helps to restore collagen and help the skin produce healthy new skin cells. Start now and see results in one month – just when you’ll want to be getting rid of that turtleneck!

Luscious Lips. We all want them – soft, smooth and kissable. Sara Happ has the formula and isn’t keeping her lips sealed on how to get them. Sara’s all about lips and has created The Lip Scrub and The Lip Slip. The scrub gets rid of dry flakey skin and comes in six delicious flavors – Almond Crème, Peppermint, Vanilla Bean, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon Sugar and Cocoa, and my favorite, Crème Brulee. After using, my lips were not only soft, but I had the delicious taste of sweetness without any of the calories. Finish off with the Lip Slip, a colorless glossy balm that’s great day and night.
