The holidays are over and now it’s time to hunker down?
Perhaps.
However, if you are a thrill-seeker and want to hit the slopes and get out of the metropolis, the following are 5 ski resorts near New York City that offer social distancing in that great white, slushy way with moguls and slaloms.
These resorts are following strict health codes and open for winter sports. Times, like seasons, change but you can still strap on the boots and boards near the city.
Here is what you need to know:
1). Windham Mountain, Windham, New York

3). Mountain Creek, New Jersey
Many of us typically think of New Jersey as the Joisey Shore —a place to tan, party and frolic on the state’s coastal beaches from places like Asbery Park to Wild Wood to Cape May. Stop! For skiing, Mountain Creek offers over 167 skiable acres and over 1,000 vertical feet across 4 interconnected peaks and it’s just 47 miles outside of New York City. Check it out! #winter2021 @mountaincreek

You can also ride the Metro-North Ski Train and catch their free shuttle from the Patterson train station. However, due to Covid-19, restrictions and schedules have changed. Click on their website or call for deets. #skiing
5). Montage Mountain, Pennsylvania
As a young man who hails from North East Pennsylvania, I have visited the Pocono’s and nearby Montage Mountain many times with sentimental memories. With 26 trails ranging from beginner to expert, the 1000 vertical feet with valley views, Montage also has a Snowtubing Park for kids and adults who want to act like kids. These snow-packed trails are located approximately 2.5 hours from NYC. #WinterSports
