Part of vacation is finding the perfect place for your temporary home. Planning for my yearly summer trip, I was amazed by the beauty of this place. Arriving at the Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, I was greeted outside of the building by the concierge, who was waiting to help me and to open the door. As I stepped through the doors of this architectural gem, I was met with a warmth and genuine hospitality that set the stage for an unforgettable stay. Check-in was easy; I was welcomed by a lovely lady who informed me of the resort’s amenities, such as morning tea and freshly brewed coffee for their early risers, refreshing organic water infused with local fruits and veggies, complimentary 2-hour bike rentals, free of charge beach lounge chairs, and morning beach yoga with an instructor. The resort also offers happy hour specials and two complimentary glasses of wine (a wine lovers’ dream!).
Walking through the halls outside, there is greenery and plants all around me. Attention to detail is evident throughout the property, from the intricate art painted on the walls to locally inspired art pieces throughout their corridors. The resort’s square had a deck with cozy outdoor seating, tables, lush plants, trees encasing the yard, and lights strung from above; it’s a perfect hangout spot for large groups or solo travelers alike who enjoy relaxing in the sun with a book. Guests are treated to the signature Kimpton amenities that blend comfort with environmental responsibility, ensuring your stay is both lavish and eco-conscious.
Finally arriving at my 150 suite, I open my door to a pristine room with a lovely welcome note on the desk. The room offered a fluffy, king-size bed with all the pillows you could possibly ask for, side tables with little lamps that provided USB ports, an adorable baby blue mini-fridge that I wish I could take home, a desk, and a flat-screen TV. The closet provided a spacious amount of room, a robe for relaxing, and a beach bag with towels. My favorite part of the room was its enormous windows, showcasing natural light and wild natural scenery. Once I unpacked and settled in, I knew what was next: the pool.
For those who seek lighter fare or tropical libations, the Breezy Palms Pool Bar is an ideal spot to unwind poolside. A bar perfectly placed by the pool enabled me to unwind and take a refreshing dip in the turquoise waters. Large sunbathing beds were lined along the pool, each with their own umbrella. High-top tables were available for those who wanted to drink more casually and have access to their restaurant, La Fuga.
During those four days I stayed at the Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale resort, I was tempted to linger within its oasis, yet beyond the resort’s beauty was a vibrant city with culture, arts, and outdoor adventures to explore. I took advantage of the resort’s free, two-hour bikes to incorporate physical activity into my day in a fun, adventurous way. I became an early riser to breathe in the ocean air while doing yoga. I appreciated the quiet comforts of my solidarity in the middle of their vast, king-size bed, watching my favorite rerun shows and always returning to an organized room rife with towels or toiletries. Walking and wandering throughout the premises, you’ll encounter secret seats to lay on, admiring the Earth around you and savoring paradise. And what better way to enjoy a new place with your family when your furry friends can also come along!
